ARMOUR DANCE THEATRE’S PARTNERSHIPS
Armour Dance Theatre’s organizational partners are crucial to the success of our children’s future in Miami-Dade County.
The Advocacy Network assists with creating specific lesson plans for children with disabilities. In addition, the Network provides staff training, onsite evaluations, and additional resources to ensure that our staff is fully equipped to provide an inclusive learning atmosphere for all dancers.
The Children’s Trust of Miami-Dade County is a DVS funder whose vast network of services also provides crucial ancillary support, through Armour Dance Theatre, to our students and staff.
Miami-Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS) dance and theater magnet programs refer students to Armour Dance Theatre for dance training in preparation for their next level of auditions, as students transition from elementary into middle school, and middle into high school placement. In addition, MDCPS provides nutrition services, delivering our students healthy snacks after school, and breakfast and lunch during summer programming.
New World School of the Arts (NWSA): Armour Dance Theatre and NWSA collaborate to produce the annual Nutcracker Ballet. Armour Dance Theatre works with low-income NWSA students, providing classes and access to summer intensives in NYC.
Dance Plus Miami allows Armour Dance Theatre to purchase discounted dance clothes and shoes for our low-income students.
The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts and Ailey Camp partner with Armour Dance Theatre to transition low-income Ailey summer campers into school year training at Armour Dance Theatre’s main site, at no cost to the students.
Polestar Pilates provides rehabilitation Pilates to help dance students in need recover from injury.
Miami-Dade Transit provides free transit passes to our dancers who qualify as “Transportation Disadvantaged.”
PsycheSolutions, Inc. provides mental health counseling to Armour Dance Theatre students. The YES Institute provides advocacy and counseling on gender/sexual orientation, and Survivors Pathway provides the same to students who have been victims of violent crimes.
