The oldest conservatory of ballet in Miami, Armour Dance Theatre has a legacy of excellence. The Academy, located in the heart of South Miami, offers high-quality dance training in a variety of genres from pre-school to the professional level. All classes are taught by professional teaching artists. We guarantee you will receive the quality dance training you are looking for.

Free after-school and summer camp programs are offered year-round to 300 elementary-age students in the neighborhoods of Miami Gardens, Little Haiti, West Coconut Grove, and West Perrine. Students flourish in the nurturing and safe environment provided by our professional team of instructors and after-school caregivers. Students of all abilities are welcomed.

Eligible students ages 11 and above have access to advanced dance training at The Academy. The Next Step Program offers free or low-cost dance training, assistance in cross-county transportation, high-school magnet program auditions, and college application mentorship. Participating students also have access to the Summer in New York Program.

Performance opportunities are available to students from all five sites. Performances include the Nutcracker ballet, the annual spring concert, community performances, and in-studio performances. Participation is free. These performances give students the opportunity to learn teamwork, attention to detail, and be a part of professional-quality productions.

Beyond the skills learned through dance, we maximize each child’s potential by identifying any obstacles to success and working to remove them. Through community partners, Armour Dance Theatre connects families to services that include: health and dental services, mental health services, immigration services, legal services, and housing opportunities, among others.

Students dream of studying in a summer-intensive program with professional companies in New York. Such intensives offer access to the highest levels of training, networking, and the necessary experience when auditioning for professional companies or college programs. We make this possible for 20 students each year by covering room and board costs for up to 8 weeks.
